How Much Money Can You Save?

As a frequent online shopper who wisely uses this money saving website, how much money can you save in a year? From month to month and season to season our online shopping totals can mount up, but so too can the savings me make if we're clever enough to use the discount vouchers available here.

Here's an idea for you. Keep a diary of your online purchases.  It needn't be anything elaborate - you could just write them down in a notepad if you like, or if you prefer more detail you could use a spreadsheet.  The basic things you need to record are what you bought, how much it cost, and how much you saved.

Every few months add up how much you saved so far that year, then at the end of year or just before Christmas check your running total.  You'll be surprised just how much money you've saved.

Of course, it all depends on how many times you've shopped and used one of the discounts and special deals you've found here, but let's suppose that over the course of nine months or a year you've bought twenty items at an average of £106.25 per item (some might be books but others might be electrical goods or furniture), and the average discount was 15% on the original price of £125.

That would mean that with a total spend throughout the year of £2,500 on all your household goods, gifts, books, wine, groceries, fashion, and furniture you will have saved £375.

Now that's quite a considerable sum that's still available to you to spend on you or a treat for someone special, or just to keep safe for a rainy day.
